What Wanderlog gets right

The map-and-itinerary-in-one-view idea is the right idea, and Wanderlog executes it well: you see the day and the geography together, and a one-click route optimiser reorders stops so you are not criss-crossing a city. For road trips especially, that is the feature that matters most.

It is also properly collaborative on the free tier, not as a trial. Live editing with friends, unlimited trips, unlimited people — their help centre commits to that in writing. Add strong mobile apps, expense splitting, packing checklists, and user-written guides you can pull places from, and it is a lot of tool for nothing.

If your planning problem is "we know roughly what we want to do, we need somewhere to organise it together", Wanderlog is a sound answer and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Is ezTrips a good Wanderlog alternative?

It depends which half of the job you want done. Wanderlog is an organiser: you bring the places, it arranges and maps them, and collaboration is free. ezTrips is a planner: you describe the trip and it does the research — real places checked for opening hours and closures, days sequenced to cut backtracking — then carries the trip through bookings, spend and the day itself. If you enjoy choosing every stop, Wanderlog may suit you better.

Wanderlog has a free tier. Does ezTrips?

No. ezTrips has no free tier: ezPass is $5/day for a single trip, capped at $50 for 10-14 day trips, and ezPro is $99/year. Wanderlog is free for unlimited trips with live collaboration, and Wanderlog Pro is $39.99/year. If price is the deciding factor, that is a real difference and we are not going to argue you out of it.

Does Wanderlog not already generate itineraries with AI?

It does — Wanderlog can auto-fill your days with top user-reviewed suggestions ranked from Tripadvisor and Google reviews, and has an AI assistant for questions and ideas. The difference is what happens around the generated day: ezTrips checks each venue for opening hours and closures, sequences stops to keep the day geographically tight, builds around bookings you have already made, and re-settles the rest of the plan when you change one thing.

Can I move a trip I have already started in Wanderlog?

Partly. ezTrips can import a trip from text or a forwarded email, so pasting in the plan you have built gets you most of the way, and confirmations you forward are attached to the trip. There is no direct Wanderlog integration.
