The difference is where each one puts its effort — Layla into finding and booking the trip, ezTrips into whether the plan holds up when you are standing in front of the place.

What Layla gets right

The conversational refinement is real, not a gimmick. Ask for a cheaper version or a different class of hotel and a persistent, structured itinerary changes underneath the conversation, rather than a fresh block of text being written out. That is the right shape for this problem.

They also put a human travel expert in the loop to check the tricky parts, at no extra cost, which is a genuinely distinctive thing to offer and something software alone cannot replace. And their discovery layer — creator videos mapped onto destinations — is a real answer to the "where should we even go" half of a trip, which most planners skip.

Booking links are surfaced where the plan needs them and checkout happens on the provider’s own site, so the reservation is yours, at the provider’s own price, and ezTrips is never the merchant of record. Forward the confirmation and it is organised back into the trip with the spend. Some links earn us a referral fee from the provider, which never affects what the plan recommends.

  • You want to book inside the planner. Layla integrates with Booking.com, Skyscanner, GetYourGuide and Viator so the trip can be booked in-product; ezTrips deliberately sends you to the provider to check out.3
  • You want a human to sanity-check the plan. Layla offers a travel expert who reviews bookings, logistics and the details software can miss — ezTrips has no human-in-the-loop service.1
  • You have not chosen a destination yet. Their creator-video discovery layer is built for exactly that, and ezTrips assumes you roughly know where you are going.2

Honest answers

Is ezTrips a good Layla alternative?

They are the two closest products in this category, so the honest answer is that it depends on what you want the tool to be. Layla is an AI travel agent: it will find the trip, book it through its partners, and put a human expert on the tricky parts. ezTrips is a Travel OS: it checks every place for opening hours and closures, keeps checkout with the provider so the booking is yours, and runs the trip itself through ezGo on the day.

Why does ezTrips not book the trip like Layla does?

Because booking through a middle layer puts something between you and the provider — a margin, a support queue, someone else holding your reservation when a flight moves. We surface the booking link and let you check out on the provider’s own site, then organise the confirmation and the spend back into your trip. It is a deliberate trade: less convenient in the moment, and your booking is a direct one. If you would rather have it all handled in one place, Layla does that and we would point you there.

Does ezTrips have human travel experts?

No. Layla offers a human expert to review the plan; ezTrips is software. Travel professionals do use ezTrips — ezAgent is a separate product for advisors planning trips for their own paying clients — but that is you hiring an advisor, not a review service included with the app.

Both take a description and return an itinerary. What actually differs?

What happens around the itinerary. ezTrips checks each venue for opening hours and closures and flags what has closed; sequences days to keep stops close together with the travel between them built in; builds around bookings you already hold; re-settles the rest of the day when you change one thing; and then keeps going past the plan into bookings, spend and live guidance on the day. Layla puts more weight on discovery, in-product booking and human review.
